The Story
This National 3 Peaks Challenge Map shows an individual map for routes up challenge peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. The Ben Nevis map shows the route from the Glen Nevis Information Centre and Glen Nevis Youth Hostel. The Scafell Pike map shows the route from Wasdale and Seathwaite. The Snowdon map shows the route along the Pyg Track, Miners Track and from Llanberis. Each map covers the overall region to show the access roads as well as the walking routes.
The maps take OS mapping at 1:50,000 that are expanded to produce 1:20,000 scale maps of the three challenge peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. By expanding the OS mapping all names, roads, tracks and trails are more than doubled in size making them easier to read under Challenge conditions. The challenge routes are highlighted to make them stand out against the OS map background information. Additional information is then added to the maps that will help your challenge.
