Schweiz ExtremOst guidebook for Eastern Switzerland

The Schweiz ExtremOst rock climbing guidebook describes a selection of sport and multi-pitch alpine climbing at grades from F6a to F9a, in the Eastern and Central Swiss Alps.  The guidebook covers a wide range of top climbing areas around the towns of Luzern, Meiringen, Goschenen, Schwyz, Sargans and Chur.

The guidebook covers several key alpine and pre-alpine regions:

- Obwalden
- Urnerland
- Schächental
- Glarnerland
- Sarganserland
- Vorarlberg (Austria)
- Graubünden

In total 67 separate crags are described ranging from single pitch sport routes to multi-pitch alpine routes up to 1,000m long with many routes between 200m and 500m long. For each crag the type of equipment required is detailed. So for single pitch sport routes rope length and number of quickdraws are detailed.  For the multi-pitch routes the type of ropes required and any additional equipment such as nuts and cams are detailed.

At the start of each area there is a good location map, along with useful information such as altitude, when the crag is in the sun and the style of climbing to be found.  The crag topos are very clear, with all the routes given French grades (each pitch if appropriate). 

Published in May 2013 this guidebook is written in German and English text throughout, with many colour action photographs.  Each guidebook has unique code to download an App (iOS and Android) of the full guidebook to your mobile device that is free of charge.
